Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher who is passionate about children's learning on either a 1:1 or small group basis. The successful candidate will be required to teach specific dyslexia learning needs and develop students' meta-cognitive awareness to ensure they have a good understanding of their dyslexic learning styles. We tutor students from school years 1 through to A-Level).

Core Skills Required:

- Primary Subject Tutor: teacher certificate and experience in language skills;

- Secondary School Tutor: a related degree + experience in which language intervention is a central component. A teacher certificate is welcomed;

-Be able to create a learning environment of wellness where each student grows in confidence;

- To have an in-depth knowledge of Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and other specific learning difficulties ;

-Assess students’ progress, and give constructive feedback.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have the following:

  • Prior experience and a passion for teaching school students 

  • Understanding and being able to practice a mindset of wellness

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

  • Have a growth mindset and natural curiosity

  • An up-to-date CV 

  • References

  • A Current Enhanced Police Check

 

Schedule:

The schedule is adaptable fitting most professionals' lifestyles; after school with hours from 1 to 10
