We are seeking a Dyslexia Tutor to provide specialised support to students with Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). This role involves working one-on-one or in small groups, focusing on evidence-based interventions to help students overcome challenges they may face 

​

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised attention, adapting the learning pace to suit each child's needs and focusing on prioritized subjects.

  • Create, apply and adapt an I.E.P (Individual Educational Plan) to monitor student progress. This dynamic document will be shared with parents.

  • Foster a positive and nurturing environment to enhance each child's self-confidence.

  • Practice a wellness mindset, contributing to a positive learning environment.

  • Support students in their use of assistive technology.

 

Requirements:

  • Teaching Certificate.

  • Recognised qualifications such as ATS, AMBDA or others, demonstrating expertise in supporting learners for positive change.

  • Teaching expertise and a passion for working with school students.

  • Utilise multi-sensory methods for reading, spelling and mathematics.

  • Comfortably engage with students and parents, providing feedback on progress.

  • Adapt to diverse learning needs, employing effective problem-solving for successful student outcomes.

  • Demonstrate curiosity and creativity assessing how a student best learns.

  • Employs a cooperative approach to understanding the student's learning needs and those successful approaches used in the past. This may include but is not exclusive to engagement with parents, school teacher(s), psychologists etc.
