Summer School in Guernsey | Academic & Entrance Exam Preparation

A Summer Holiday Club with Purpose

For many children, the long summer break can lead to a gentle loss of momentum. Skills that felt secure at the end of term may take time to return, and confidence can dip slightly as children settle back into routines.

This is often most noticeable in the first few weeks of September, when children are working to regain their rhythm rather than moving forward with ease.

Our Summer School in Guernsey is designed to support this transition in two clear and purposeful ways, depending on your child’s needs.

The Morning Programme (Academic Summer School) helps children in Years 4–6 maintain progress, build confidence, and continue developing core skills in Maths, English and Thinking Skills.

The Afternoon Programme (College Entrance Exam Preparation) supports students preparing for entry to selective schools such as Ladies’ College and Elizabeth College, focusing on exam skills, reasoning and confidence under pressure.

Both programmes take place in a calm, small-group setting at Les Cotils, ensuring learning feels focused, supportive, and never overwhelming.

Whether your child needs gentle academic support, greater stretch, or structured exam preparation, teaching is carefully matched to ensure the week feels purposeful, positive, and genuinely enjoyable.

Helping Your Child Stay Confident and Ready for the New School Year

Summer is an important pause in the school calendar, but without gentle structure, some children find that confidence and fluency in core skills can fade slightly over time.

Our morning programme is designed to keep learning active in a calm, supportive way, helping children strengthen key skills and return to school feeling settled, confident, and ready to progress.

Short, focused mornings in a small-group setting ensure children stay engaged without feeling pressured, with teaching carefully matched to their individual needs.
