Full Job Description

We are looking for Coding Teachers with the right expertise to inspire and teach coding to young students (years 1-6).

 

Roles & Responsibilities

-Teach coding in a fun & engaging way; 

-Create a learning environment of wellness where each student grows in confidence;

-Assess student’s progress, and give constructive feedback

-Provide feedback to parents/guardians;

-Contribute to curriculum development and developing the proper pedagogy for teaching coding;

 

Role 1 - Scratch from MIT for those with little to no experience with coding

Schedule: Mornings 900-1200; Monday-Friday; 15-19 August

 

Role 2 - Java Script for students who have prior proven success with coding

Schedule: Mornings 1300-1600; Monday-Friday; 15-19 August

 

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Prior experience and a passion for teaching school students 

• A curious mind and possibly an engineering background

• Understanding and being able to practice a mindset of wellness

• Excellent communication skills 

• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

• A Computer Science degree is a benefit

• Coding background is essential

• B.Ed. is not required

• A Current Enhanced Police Check

 

Schedule: One week 15-19 August 2022

Wage: TBA depending on experience
